7:00 a.m.

  • Ecumenical Services @ City Park shelterhouse (bring your own lawnchairs)
  • 8:00 a.m.

  • VFW Track and field events @ N.U.H.S. Track(ages Pre-school-6th grade) Info: Contact Loren Looft 712.260.9306

  • 9:00 a.m.

  • Heritage Museum opens(closed during parade-open until 3 p.m.) Celebrating 26 years!
  • 10:00 a.m.

  • Soap Box Derby Races @ hill by Valley Vue Care Center(ages 8-13)

  • Inflatables set up in Park will be open 10am-5pm (Closed from 12:00-2:00 during parade) Sponsored by area businesses and individuals.

    Methodist food stand in park Variety Menu -open @ 9am

    Nazareth Lutheran Church Maid-rites,BBQ Pork, Coney Dogs, Ice Cream, Pie 11am - 3pm

    1:00 p.m.

  • Kiddie parade followed by Main Parade
    Vickie Rooney, Chairman, 712-868-4020, 868-3681 Kiddie Parade starts at S.E. end of high school and ends at 1st Ave; Parade route begins at football field, turns at 1st Ave & ends back at the football field.
  • After the parade

  • Freedom Rock Dedication in City Park
  • Free Swimming - Armstrong City Pool
  • Watermelon Feed - South side of Park
  • Kids Pedal Tractor Pull -west side of City Park
  • Horse and Wagon rides until 4 PM(Tom and Lisa Hansen)
  • 2:30 p.m.

  • Local Entertainment @ shelterhouse in park - bring your lawn chairs!!
  • 3:00 p.m.

  • Winners of ABC Drawings announced every 15 min. in City Park
  • 3:15 p.m.

  • Announce Car Show Winners - Catholic Church parking lot.
  • 3:30 p.m.

  • Fireman's Water Fight Located: NW corner of City Park (Registration at 2:30)
  • 10:00 p.m.- Fireworks

    (set off North of Armstrong)


    Main parade-3 places($150,$100,$75) 3 divisions-Family, Commercial, Organizational
    Kiddie parade- 1st place-$25,2nd place-$20,3rd place-$15,All others-$5
    2 Special float awards-GKN & Art's-Way (pre-judged before parade for these prizes)

    Don't forget to bring lawn chairs for Church, Bike show, parade, entertainment, etc.

    3 days of Preliminary Weekend Events

    July 1st

    Pump-N-Run Registration. Pump portion @ NUHS weight room. Register online 6-7pm

    Daybreak Band/Karaoke - Dale's Recreation south lot. 7-10pm

    July 2nd

    Pump-N-Run 5K portion (7-7:45 walk-in registration and packet pickup) Run begins @ 8am.

    Craft Show - Community Center 9:30 am - 1:30 pm. Always on Your Side will have Coffee, rolls, etc. Kristin Buum 712.260.6654.

    Mojo Productions DJ at VFW 9 pm - 1 am ($10 cover charge - Bring your chairs and dancing shoes)

    July 3rd

    Street Dance - by Steve Lang and Bob Petrowiak 7:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.($10 cover charge. All ages welcome.
